Spring cleaning: a room-by-room plan that actually works

Spring cleaning does not have to happen in a single exhausting day. The secret is to split it by room and spread it over a few days.
Day 1 — The bedrooms
Flip the mattress, wash the linen and curtains, dust the paneling and skirting boards, vacuum under the bed. Empty and organize that one drawer you keep putting off.
Day 2 — Living room and hallways
Clean behind and under furniture, wipe light fixtures, wash the windows. A home only shines when light comes through clean glass.
Day 3 — The kitchen
Empty the cabinets, check expiry dates, degrease the hood and clean appliances inside. (We have a dedicated kitchen guide.)
Day 4 — The bathroom
Attack limescale and mold, sanitize thoroughly, replace old brushes and sponges.
Day 5 — The details
- Doors and handles
- Switches and sockets
- Radiators and ventilation grilles
- Air-conditioning filters
The golden rule
Tick off each room before moving on. Visible progress keeps you motivated.
